California Institute of Technology President Dr. David Baltimore joins guest Host Patt Morrison to talk about Virus Like Particles, or VLPs. VLPs are non-infectious mimics of viruses and can trigger a strong response in the immune system. So, strong, in fact, that mice infected with the Ebola Virus showed no signs of the disease. VLPs have shown promise in protecting mice from other viruses, including HIV.
