Larry Mantle talks with author Mick Brown about his new book, Tearing Down the Wall of Sound: The Rise and Fall of Phil Spector (Knopf). Brown chronicles Spector's rise to become one of the preeminent music producers in rock and roll history. His "Wall of Sound" style of music was revolutionary in hits such as John Lennon's "Imagine," and The Righteous Brothers "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin." Then, after a series of ups and downs in Spector's career and personal life, in February of 2003, actress Lana Clarkson was found shot in Spector's home. The trial is currently taking place in Los Angeles.
