Eighty-seven-year-old George Weller killed ten people in July when he drove his Buick through a pedestrian farmer's market in Santa Monica. Now, the District Attorney's office has filed criminal charges against Weller, on the grounds of gross negligence. Robert Pugsley, professor of Law at Southwestern University School of Law, joins Host Larry Mantle to discuss the legalities of the case. Also, Larry opens the phones to hear your comments on the issue. Do you think that George Weller should be prosecuted for his actions that day in July? What will be gained by punishing him? Should he be left alone because of his age? Perhaps his age should have no bearing on his accountability. Give us a call and tell us what you think.
