Mueller Warns Election Security Threat Is Far From Over, Where Do We Stand Now?

Former Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller made one thing clear during his testimony to House lawmakers this week: Russia’s attempt to influence the 2016 election is not over.

He said their efforts are ongoing and can be expected to continue during the next campaign. He urged for more action to be taken in order to protect the country’s electoral process in the future.

Following Mueller’s hearing, the Senate intelligence committee released a report with findings on Russian’s influence. The report offers recommendations and details efforts to ramp up security efforts. Intelligence leaders have said they hope the report pushes agencies to continue working to increase election security.
