In his speech before the joint session of Congress Thursday, Ayad Allawi, Iraq’s Interim Prime Minister offered thanks to America for its support and sacrifice and declared that his country is moving successfully past the war that ousted Saddam Hussein. He also vowed that elections will take place next year as scheduled.
