A nationally recognized anti-gang activist has been arrested on federal racketeering and conspiracy charges for his alleged gang involvement. Alex Sanchez was the director of the gang-intervention nonprofit Homies Unidos. Sanchez, along with two dozen others indicted, is believed to be an associate of the street gang Mara Salvatrucha.
