Author, journalist, futurist and critic Bruce Sterling joins guest host Jon Beaupre to talk about his work as the "Visionary-in-Residence" at the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. His science fiction works include Involution Ocean (1977), The Artificial Kid (1980), Schismatrix (1985), Islands in the Net (1988) and Heavy Weather (1994). His 1992 non-fiction book called The Hacker Crackdown, describes the law enforcement and computer-crime activities that led to the start of the Electronic Frontier Foundation in 1990. Sterling edited "Mirrorshades," the definitive document of the cyberpunk movement.
