Chet Baker

Chet Baker emerged in the 1950's when he came to the West Coast from Oklahoma and quickly became the prince of "cool" jazz. He died a violent drug-related death in Amsterdam in 1988. Larry Mantle talks with author and journalist James Gavin about his new book, Deep In a Dream (Knopf), that explores the mysterious and turbulent life of jazz trumpeter Chet Baker.
