Autism rates in children are skyrocketing. At the same time, research is showing that early diagnosis and intensive treatment dramatically increases the chance that an autistic child will become a functioning member of society. Despite these facts, waiting lists for children seeking diagnosis has lengthened, and state funding for treatment has declined. How can parents of children with autism spectrum disorder get timely, appropriate and affordable treatment in today's lean times?
