Diners in some parts of SoCal seeking a reliably delicious pie courtesy of standby Marie Callender's may be forced to turn elsewhere -- the company is filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, reports the Daily Breeze. Blaming the economy, the owners of Marie Callender's, who also own Perkin's Family Restaurants, said that the company couldn't survive in the current financial climate.

One of the first pieces of art patrons of the soon-to-open Saint Felix in Hollywood are promised to see when they enter is an angry nun who is primed to judge the debauched time you're about to have. No, this isn't a destination dreamed up by the whackadoodle folks who brought you the #fail fest that was the May 21 rapture. It's a new dining destination done up by L.A.-based designer Troy Silva.

Rush Snack Bar (Image courtesy Andrew Cohen) Downtown's 7th/Metro subway station, which serves the Red, Purple, Blue, and, eventually, Expo lines, will soon be home to a convenience store in the stop itself. The Rush Snack Bar could open as soon as the end of this month, says blogger Brigham Yen, who has the background info on the new retail endeavor. The unique retail space is located underground near the station's Hope Street entrance....
