The 2014 film Whiplash, about a strict music teacher and his protege, brought early acclaim for writer/director Damien Chazelle and composer Justin Hurwitz, who later made La La Land together. This live event features the film in front of an 18-piece jazz big band ensemble and world-class drummer conducted by Hurwitz. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to MusicCares to support artists following the L.A. wildfires.
