Join us for a special partnership with The Story Collider. It’ll be a night of hilarious, heartbreaking, and heartwarming stories about science. Whether you haven’t touched a test tube since high school or have a closet full of lab coats, this is for you.
Most widely known for a weekly podcast that The Washington Post has called “delightful, devastating, and endlessly listenable,” The Story Collider brings together scientists, performers, and everyone in between to share true, personal stories about how science has impacted their lives.

Bryan Kett (he/him) is a former high school science teacher from outside of Chicago. He got tired of telling his students not to drink the chemicals in chemistry lab, so he began taking writing classes at Chicago’s famed Second City, which led to him earning his master’s degree in Creative Writing from DePaul University. Bryan serves as Producer for The Story Collider and instructor for The Story Studio. His work, which blends science, humor, and personal narrative, has been featured on various NPR stations, Rainn Wilson’s SoulPancake, TED.com, RISK!, and The Moth Podcast. He is still an advocate for not drinking chemicals in chemistry lab.
Rose Abdoo (she/her) is currently playing Josefina in “Hacks” on Max . Rose is known for her role as Gypsy in "Gilmore Girls" and Gypsy & Berta in the Netflix movies "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.” She was the recipient of the TVLine Best Comedy Revelation of 2016 for her dual role. Rose Abdoo has over 110 television & movie credits, Other notable TV appearances: “Reboot” , “NCIS: LA,” “Parenthood,” “Scandal,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” "Grace & Frankie,” “The Comeback,” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” She is known to young fans as Señorita Rodriguez from "That’s So Raven.” Rose’s film appearances include "The Guilt Trip" with Barbra Streisand, "My Best Friend’s Wedding" and George Clooney’s Oscar nominated "Good Night & Good Luck.” She is the voice of several characters in “Hotel Transylvania 1&2” and is currently voicing several characters on the new “Beavis &Butthead”, “Madagascar: A Little Wild” & “Captain Fall”. Rose plays Bev in "Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” the critically acclaimed comedy film from Kristen Wiig & Annie Mumalo. Rose is also a recipient of L.A. Weekly’s Female Solo Performer of the Year award.
Darcie Little Badger (she/her) is a Lipan Apache writer with a PhD in oceanography. Her critically acclaimed debut novel, “Elatsoe,” was featured in Time Magazine as one of the best 100 fantasy books of all time. Her second fantasy novel, “A Snake Falls to Earth,” received a Newbery Honor and is on the National Book Awards longlist. Her third novel, “Sheine Lende,” is the prequel to “Elatsoe” and has received six starred reviews. Darcie is married to a veterinarian named Taran.
Tim Lopez (he/him) is a storyteller and educator born and raised in Los Angeles. His stories have been featured on the Moth Radio Hour, KCRW in Los Angeles, and CBS Radio nationwide. He is currently an Interpretive Park Ranger at Channel Islands National Park, where he brings the stories of the natural environment and the history of California to life. He is also a Jeopardy! champion and is legally obligated to mention that fact as often as possible.
Christopher Rivas (he/him) is an actor, author, podcaster, and storyteller. Part memoir and part social commentary, his book “Brown Enough” explores what it means to be Brown in a Black/white world. Chris also hosts two podcast series with SiriusXM's Stitcher: “Brown Enough,” which explores the parallel themes of this book through interview-style episodes; and “Rubirosa,” a 10-episode documentary-style investigation of Porfirio Rubirosa, a Dominican diplomat, race car driver, soldier and polo player who is believed to be the inspiration for the famous character James Bond. On screen, Rivas is known for his work on the Fox series, “Call Me Kat,” opposite Mayim Bialik, Leslie Jordan, Kyla Pratt and Cheyenne Jackson.
