Pasadena Symphony Music Director Brett Mitchell kicks off the season in dramatic style with Berlioz’s bold, hallucinatory masterpiece of passion, obsession and vivid orchestral storytelling. Plus, award-winning pianist Orion Weiss performs Ravel’s jazz-inspired piano concerto, and the orchestra will celebrate the legendary career of their Principal Tuba of 50 seasons, Jim Self, with his masterpiece Tour de Force.
