Explore new exhibitions that celebrate the richness of California art. Spanning more than five decades, “Raymond Saunders: Flowers from a Black Garden” explores Raymond Saunders's improvisational approach to painting in works that blend abstraction and figuration through found imagery, text, drawing and everyday objects.

Staging California in Early Hollywood explores how Southern California painters helped shape Hollywood cinema through set design, visual effects and creative collaborations, revealing how the seemingly disparate worlds of film and plein air painting were rooted in the same California landscape.
