Grab some scissors and a glue stick, it’s time to make a zine! It’s election research, but make it crafty. We’ll start with a quick rundown of what’s on your ballot and then get right to the fun with facilitators guiding you through creating a handmade zine based on what’s on the ballot this fall. Your custom zine will be a way to help you talk to others in your family and community about the issues that matter most to you. All of the supplies you need to create will be provided, as well as food, drinks, and music. Come meet some new friends, make a zine, and learn more about the upcoming election. Drop in for a little while or hang out til the end—we’ll be crafting and talking elections from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.
*Think of a zine like a cute, often hand-made booklet, even a mini-magazine (see it?), to share stories, information, or art.
