The LA Phil marks the 20th anniversary of Walt Disney Concert Hall at its annual gala concert this year by paying homage to Frank Gehry, the architect behind the iconic L.A. venue and the Judith and Thomas L. Beckmen YOLA Center at Inglewood. The program includes the prelude from Bach’s Partita, the first piece performed in the then-still-under-construction hall, followed by Esa-Pekka Salonen’s transformation of its melody into his piece FOG accompanied by Lucinda Childs, performing her own original choreography. Other performers include Herbie Hancock and H.E.R. Gustavo Dudamel conducts the LA Phil.
