Superior Court judges oversee courtroom proceedings and trials across all of Los Angeles County — it’s a big job and there are lots of judges (more than 400). There is a possibility that you’ll interact with one of these judges at some point in your life, whether through divorce or custody hearings, small claims court, or for contract disputes. So picking judges who align with your values is important. That may seem like an overwhelming job when you see the seemingly endless list of names for these races but we’re here to help. LAist reporter Cato Hernández has been covering judicial elections since 2022 and they will help you navigate these particularly challenging pages on your ballot. Plus, Cato will get into the state-level justices we’re also voting on in this election. They’ll also have experts on hand to add insight and answer questions. Join us for a one-hour rundown on the judges before you cast your vote this fall.
