Go Fact Yourself is a pop culture trivia show hosted by J. Keith van Straaten (he/him) (Ask Me Another, Senior Writer) and Helen Hong (she/her) (Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me, recurring panelist).
On September 27, comedian and actor Jeff B. Davis (star of the improv comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway? who is currently touring with Whose Live Anyway? and co-hosting the comedy podcast That Happens)and actor Vella Lovell (breakout star of the hit musical-comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend who currently stars in the Fox workplace comedy Animal Control), plus surprise experts will join J. Keith and Helen for a trivia show like no other!

About Vella Lovell
Vella Lovell is an acclaimed actress, well-known for her comedic performances, who has built an impressive body of work across film, television, and theatre. Vella presently stars as the female lead opposite Joel McHale in the FOX hit comedy series ANIMAL CONTROL, which will return for its fifth season on September 27th. The first four seasons of ANIMAL CONTROL are now on Netflix.
Currently, Vella also appears in the new Peacock series FIVE-STAR WEEKEND, based off the best-selling novel of the same title about a food blogger who tries to combat loss by recreating a weekend with her friends on Nantucket. The most-watched scripted show in Peacock’s history, Vella plays Jennifer Garner’s publicist ‘Chelsea’ in the show, which was just renewed for a second season.
Vella previously starred alongside Ted Danson and Holly Hunter in the Tina Fey-produced comedy MR. MAYOR for NBC. Vella earned a 2021 Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards Nomination for her performance as ‘Mikaela Shaw’ the Chief of Staff in MR. MAYOR.
Best known for her series regular role on all four seasons of The CW’s hit series CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, Vella played “Heather Davis”, the sarcastic voice of reason. Vella’s other memorable television work includes Hulu’s DOLLFACE, where she starred as Kat Dennings’ over-the-top co-worker ‘Alison S.’, as well as guest starring roles on FOX’s ACCUSED, Lena Dunham’s iconic GIRLS on HBO, and Darren Star’s YOUNGER for Paramount+.
In film, Vella appeared in the Oscar® nominated movie THE BIG SICK opposite Kumail Nanjiani and the MTV holiday parody movie A CLÜSTERFÜNKE CHRISTMAS from Rachel Dratch and Ana Gasteyer.
In the animation world, Vella was the voice of ‘Mermista’ in the Netflix series SHE-RA AND THE PRINCESSES OF POWER, which was a 2020 Critics’ Choice Nominee, and she was the voice of ‘Candle Fox’ and other characters in Disney’s Emmy® nominated series KIFF.
A graduate from New York University and Juilliard, Vella starred on stage in such New York productions as Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottages' BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK, ‘Lady Macbeth’ in an adaptation of Macbeth, and in THE BACCHAE at Shakespeare in the Park.
About J. Keith Van Straaten
J. Keith van Straaten is a content producer/writer for TV game shows, including The Hustler, Master Minds, Funny You Should Ask, and In the USA Today, and wrote trivia questions for Bally Sports. He was also a longtime senior writer on NPR’s Ask Me Another.
Previously, he wrote many of the games on GSN’s Chain Reaction and the iPhone trivia app Arena. He created and hosted the live matchmaking show The Fix-Up Show, as well as hosting What’s My Line? – Live On Stage and Comedy Central’s Beat The Geeks.
J. Keith has appeared on Best Week Ever, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Beverly Hills, 90210, and a deleted scene in Gilmore Girls.
As a journalist, J. Keith has written about COVID and comedy for the Los Angeles Times, points and miles for ThePointsGuy.com, and theatre for tdf Stages magazine.

About Helen Hong
A fan favorite on the hit NPR podcast Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Helen Hong also co-hosts the celebrity trivia game show podcast Go Fact Yourself. Helen's acting credits include roles on Never Have I Ever, Silicon Valley, the Jennifer Garner Christmas movie Family Switch, and 5 seasons of The Thundermans on Nickelodeon.
A long-time touring standup comedian, Helen's comedy special Well Hong was co-produced by Comedy Dynamics and Tribeca Film Festival, and is streaming now on Amazon Prime & Apple TV+. Audiences love Helen's lightning quick crowdwork which can be seen on her Instagram and TikTok @funnyhelenhong.
A breast cancer survivor, Helen makes light of her cancer experience (and her "fresh new boobies") onstage. She also brings light to Asian-American issues with her family's YouTube channel "Old Korean Dad Stories."

About Jeff B. Davis
Jeff B. Davis is an actor and comedian, born and bred in Los Angeles, California.
He began acting at age four, appeared on Broadway at age ten with Yul Brynner in The King and I, and retired at age twelve. After being dragged into an improv group in high school, Jeff emerged from retirement and was eventually cast as a frequent guest on the TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Jeff has a long list of television credits and hopes one day to break George Clooney’s record for “most failed TV pilots.”
He currently tours the world with Whose Live Anyway? along with other stars from the TV show.
