Oooh, this is one of those "why we live in L.A." events for me. A new exhibit on Alice Coltrane — jazz musician, devotional leader, and wife of jazz saxophonist John Coltrane — opens at the Hammer, and a special free opening night event is the best time to check it out. The evening will see the galleries open late for the show, Alice Coltrane, Monument Eternal, and music will fill the courtyard. Flying Lotus — Alice Coltrane’s grandnephew, Steven Ellison (who knew?!) — will be DJing with special guest WEBSLINGER. The exhibit is on view through May 4.
