Morning After Report: 90210 Episode 24 'One Party Can Ruin Your Whole Summer'

Nothing says "Sophomore Prom Night" quite like a brand new baby. It's Sophomore Prom night, and we've had an unlikely write-in Queen scorn her crown and her King (Silver, Dixon), a confession of "liking" (Liam to Naomi), a rumble (Navid and Adrianna's baby-daddy Ty), a "my water just broke" announcement (Adrianna), and a secret divorcee on a date with a teacher who still has the hots for the school counselor (Jen, Semi Hot, Kelly...

Morning After Report: 90210 Episode 23 'Zero Tolerance'

Now doesn't this image just scream SOPHOMORE PROM to you? Principal Dad has a message for the Sophomore Class of West Beverly Hills High School: ZERO TOLERANCE. In a cheesy video he obviously roped his "actress" daughter into co-starring in with him, he informs the school--well, actually, just the Sophs, that if they get caught at an After Prom Party with alcohol they will be suspended, and if they're suspended, they'll have to go...

Morning After Report: 90210 Episode 22: 'The Party's Over'

Annie and Naomi look the way I do when I watch 90210, except I would never do either of those things to my hair. Notice the Dr Pepper product placement? Yes, it's under Semi Hot Teacher's real-life name. Yes, I take pictures of my TV. Deal. The gang's all gathered in the WBHHS cafeteria to rock some dubious hairstyles and drink some delicious Dr Pepper (I guess they opted not to ban soda in...

Morning After Report: 90210 Episode 21 'The Dionysian Debacle'

The sky's the limit, kiddies! So, uh... Yawn. Yeah. While none of the eps of the new 90210 are prize-worthy, this week's was kind of a bad fit. You know, like something your Mom sewed for you and then made you wear to school. Awkward! The dream sequence is a cheap trick to play on your audience, so this is where we begin, with Navid and Adrianna playing out their "Happy Family" fantasy--you know,...

Feds' Photo Op With Low-Flying Jets Scares NYers

While hovering helicopters are commonplace for Angelenos, folks in downtown Manhattan (understandably) are wary when they see low-flying planes. And that's what happened this morning: They spotted a low-flying plane being tailed by fighter jets. Some buildings were evacuated while others told employees they were staying put—and then the FAA explained "the Defense Department is conducting a photo op that involves deploying two F-16s and escorting a Boeing 747 in the vicinity of Lower...

Morning After Report: 90210 Episode 20 'Between a Sign and a Hard Place'

Donna Martin knows what she wants...or does she? Last week, Donna Martin (Tori Spelling) dropped in on Kelly and Silver and then dropped a bomb: She and David Silver (the noticeably absent Brian Austin Green) have separated. Everything is busy-busy-busy in the Taylor-Silver-houseguest Martin-Silver home this weekday morning, and while everyone else is rushing off somewhere, it seems Silver isn't back among the living yet at school, so she's handing in her homework through...

TV Junkie: LA Film Production Down/TV Up; 'Deadliest Catch' Season Premiere

"Deadliest Catch" season premiere @ 9pm on the Discovery Channel The Hollywood Reporter is saying that film production in LA is down by 56% compared to Q1 of 2008. However, TV production has rebounded by 76% over the same period due to the writers' strike ending. Still, that drop in film can't be good for anyone. --- Discovery Channel's "Alaska Week" really gets into gear with tonight's season 5 premiere of "Deadliest Catch" at...

Morning After Report: 90210 Episode 18 'Off the Rails'

Silver might be smiling here, but this week, fans, you aren't going to see much of that. (Photo by The CW) Last week it was hard not to focus on Silver flying her freak flag hella high, so quick reminder that there are other folks at West Bev High, namely one Ms. Kelly Taylor (who still is at odds with the Semi-Hot Teacher for schtupping Brenda Walsh a while back) along with a knocked...

Morning After Report: 90210 Episode 17 'Life's a Drag'

Wasn't life a drag without new episodes of the new(ish) 90210 to obsess over? Luckily the CW was heavy-handed with reruns of the first 16. Ahem. So, despite a several week-long stall, we're picking up exactly where we left off. Liam is sporting fruit! (Photo via The CW) Naomi kicks things off with an apology to the underage bartender she tried to woo at the imaginary W Hotel. He responds by throwing her against the...

TV Junkie: 'My Boys' Returns; Late Night TV Hot Tonight

"My Boys" season premiere on TBS at 10:30pm We love comedians Jim Gaffigan and Jamie Kaler so therefore we just kind of have to like TBS' "My Boys" which has its season premiere tonight. While the show isn't any less funny than any of the big network shows, Jim Gaffigan's bits are the highlight of every episode - we wish TBS would build a show around him as the lead, c'mon already. News from...

This year's annual William S. Paley Television Festival (also known as PaleyFest) will feature some LAist favorites.
