On the Lot: Marvel extends string of hits with 'Ant-Man'
"Ant-Man" makes Marvel 12 for 12. The studio's latest release topped the box office this weekend, joining the last 11 Marvel releases that all debuted at No. 1.
Audiences show little sign of superhero fatigue, says LA Times film writer Rebecca Keegan. Meaning its a good bet Marvel (and its parent, Disney) will be churning out more hits, and raking in more dollars for years to come.
Keegan also talked about the ingredients that made "Trainwreck" a weekend favorite, and she remembered Alex Rocco, the actor best-remembered as Vegas casino owner Moe Greene, in the 1972 classic, "The Godfather."
