Real quick, how many calories do you think this measly lunch would be?

What you have is my (yes, a first-person post - call the authorities!) typical lunch:

- one half of a Jack in the Box Chicken sandwich - i give the other half to the IRS just like my paycheck

Support for LAist comes from

- a bowl of canned peas (99 cent store whoot whoot - two cans for 99 cents)

- and a half dozen Hershey Kisses (thanks ma)

- washed down with a huge bottle of water

So calculate how many calories you think this lunch is and we'll see you on the other side of the jump...

OK each of those portions is 200 calories or 10% of your daily caloric intake if you want to simply break even each day with your weight. Which means that this lunch would be 30% of what you could scarf in a day.

The Wise Geek has produced an excellent post of other samples of What 200 Calories Look Like and some of it is shocking, particularly since I like to munch on dry Rice Krispies all day under the assumption that it's super low-fat and therefore "healthy". Not so fast. Even snap crackle and pop calories add up.

Which means, sadly, that you actually have to eat right AND work out to get rid of that beer belly.
