Photo: Wealthy Diner Leaves Complaint About Tax Hikes In Lieu Of Tip

A d-bag diner feeling beleaguered by recent tax hikes (allegedly) took a brave stand against the wait staff of a California establishment. (Eds. note: see update below.)

In lieu of a tip, he (or she) left a note complaining about recent tax hikes:

As a direct result of Proposition 30 and President Obama's insistence that I pay "MY FAIR SHARE IN TAXES" I find that I must cut back on discretionary spending and gratuities. I wish it didn't have to be this way for both of us.

It's worth noting that this customer is making $250,000 at the very least, since that's who is getting hit hardest by California's Proposition 30 and

the recent deal to avoid the fiscal cliff. We're sure the wait staff is totally commiserating with this guy (or gal) making six digits. There are few other details about this "tip," and we're not sure it's legit. (We've seen stuff like this before.) The photo was first posted to Reddit by user nickshambo, who says that he lives in Los Angeles.

UPDATE 1/10: It's not a hoax! There's some more solid information about a note exactly like this being left at a pizzeria in San Francisco. Read the full update.
