USC left absolutely no doubt. The Trojans are the best team in all of college football. National Champions of 2004. Admittedly, LAist is surprised that USC was able to roll over Oklahoma so easily 55-19. The Sooners have looked like a great team all year, and for them to play so porous was a surprise. But the Trojans just have more talent than everyone else, Auburn and Utah included.

Pete Carroll has cleaned up the state of California in recruiting the past few years, and it shows. It's at the point now where the Trojans seemingly have several All-Americans at every position. Lose Carson Palmer? No big deal, get Matt Leinart. What if you lose Matt Leinart? Well, John Booty is probably a more talented QB anyways. Lose Mike Williams? It's OK, USC has Steve Smith. Lose Steve Smith? Well, Dwayne Jarrett will just be ready to play. For much of the past decade, Pacific Northwest schools like Washington and Oregon got some of these talents. Not anymore.

What a great win for the Pac-10 and the state of California. No one is going to call Pac 10 football soft. No one will claim that we can't play football out here. Because not only can we play, but we're considerably better than everyone else. And the Trojans will be atop the college football world for a while.
