Video: Reporter Smoothly Shoves Hollywood Heckler Out Of His Shot
A Los Angeles reporter broadcasting live from Hollywood smoothly shoves a yelling man out of his shot and carries on his coverage like nothing happened.
It's just another night on Hollyood Blvd. for KTLA 5 reporter Steve Kuzj. He was reporting live last night around 10:30 p.m. from the Hollywood and Highland area about the recent measles outbreak.
As he begins his segment, a man rushes up next to Kuzj, shouting. Kuzj calmly removed him from the shot, repositions himself and carries on.
Kuzj's Twitter bio describes him as "Martial Arts, Fitness, Technology and Outdoor expert." On his KTLA bio, there's a very clear warning: "If you ever see him out on a story, feel free to go up and say "hi," but bad guys be warned, Steve has a second-degree black belt in mixed-martial arts and has been doing karate since he was just 5 years old."
Kuzj later tweeted about the on-air incident.
To be clear, that was a crazy man running at me, swearing, trying to get on TV. I was defending myself and viewers from hearing obscenities.

While some viewers were offended by Kuzj's actions:
@SteveKuzj of course someone as arrogant as you would retweet your inhumanity. Arrogance at its best. You should be so proud.

Others praised him:
@SteveKuzj that was gold! I think every reporter should have the right to defend like that. You handled it well!

And one Twitter user just had this to say:
