Man Dies In Possible Suicide After Shooting Himself At Universal Studios

One man is dead after reportedly shooting himself at Universal Studios.

The shooting was reported around 2:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the theme park, and is being considered a possible suicide by the Sheriff's Department. According to the L.A. Times, the incident took place near the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride.

Variety says attractions in the park near the shooting have been shut down as authorities investigate. The investigation could take hours said a sergeant with the Sheriff's Department.

There are no reports of any other injuries.

If someone you know exhibits warning signs of suicide: do not leave the person alone, remove any firearms, alcohol, drugs or sharp objects that could be used in a suicide attempt, and call the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) or take the person to an emergency room or seek help from a medical or mental health professional.
