UCLA Student Arrested In Connection With On-Campus Gropings
A graduate student at UCLA has been arrested in connection with several gropings on campus. On Saturday just after 2:30 p.m., UCLA police arrested 24-year old Bao Pengcheng from his apartment in Weyburn Terrace, the graduate student housing complex just off-campus. According to the L.A. Times, Bao is a student in the chemistry and biochemistry departments. The Daily Bruin reports that campus police received a tip from somebody who recognized Bao after his picture was distributed by authorities. The distributed photo was taken by a student who earlier this year reported being groped by the individual in the photo. Bao is accused of groping at least three female students on their upper thigh as he walked past them on campus.
Bao is from Qinhuangdao, China. He was booked on seven counts of battery and one count of sexual battery.
Anyone with more information about the incidents is being asked to call UCLA police at (310) 825-1491.
