It's Official: Prop 8 Passes Although it was initially the Associated Press announcing the passage of the controversial proposition, ultimately the election officials agreed, and California voters adopted a constitutional amendment outlawing same-sex marriage, overturning the state Supreme Court decision that gave gay couples the right to wed just months ago. As the protests of the past week, and our comments on this post, indicate, this conversation is definitely not over.

Prop 8 Protest in Long Beach We saw a lot of people take to the streets this week to voice their dismay at the passage of Prop 8 and at the Mormon church for funding much of the "Yes on 8" campaign.
