As temperatures rise to between the upper 50s and mid-60s today, at least two critical freeways in Southern California remain closed due to snow and ice.
As of 9:45 a.m., Interstate 5 is still closed at the Grapevine, however there is a chance it could open by 10 a.m. with California Highway Patrol escorts pending how fast the ice melts, according to Maria Raptis at Caltrans.
The 14 Freeway between Santa Clarita and Palmdale also remains closed for an indefinite amount of time.
