Today marks the first day of the year-end holiday travel period, which has LAX officials telling people to really make sure you arrive early... especially on the four busiest days:

  • Friday, December 19
  • Monday, December 22
  • Friday, December 26
  • Friday, January 2

2.35 million passengers are expected to run through the halls of LAX over the next two weeks. That's 14% less than last year, but still a lot of people (especially for the security line at Terminal 7). Officials are also warning passengers about the daily peak travel periods. If you fall into one of these, they say you should be in the ticketing lobby at least two hours before a domestic flight and three before an international one:

  • 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 7 p.m. to 10 p.m

Also, passengers should check with their airlines before coming to the airport because several airlines have changed terminal locations since last year.
