A motorist allegedly text messaging while driving ran a red light and crashed into a Metro bus early Friday morning in Downtown. The crash caused the bus to jump the curb and slam into a tree, according to L.A. Now.

The woman texting behind the wheel of a white Honda Civic had been traveling eastbound on 2nd Street, reports CBS2. The Route 2 Metro bus was northbound on Broadway when the Honda went through the intersection. The bus driver tried to avoid impact, but ended up crashing into a tree and taking down a light post.

The bus driver and all seven passengers on the bus as well as the woman in the Honda all complained of injuries and were transported to a local hospital, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
