A man was shot by police this afternoon in the lobby of a Beverly Hills hotel in what may be connected to an alleged bank robbery. The shooting happened at the Luxe Hotel at 360 N. Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills at about 4:30 p.m., FOX LA reports. The victim was transferred to a nearby hospital, and his condition is unknown. No one else was hurt.

The shooting may be related to an earlier robbery at a nearby Bank of America located in the 400 block of Beverly Drive, less than two blocks from the hotel. Police currently have a second robbery suspect in custody.

At this time, it's suggested that this part of Rodeo Drive be avoided if possible, according to a release from the Beverly Hills Police Department.
