Underage drinkers, beware! Local bar and nightclub owners, sick of being burned by fines for underage drinkers, are eyeing a new San Francisco custom of taking young bar patrons to small claims court. Two Bay Area bar operators recently received a $5,000 judgement against an underage drinker.

According to the L.A. Independent, the owner of the White Lotus in Hollywood thinks this "sounds like a great idea," while another bar owner says "he'll do anything to protect his business."

Leave it to NoCal to figure out a way to make our nightlife a little more litigious. If anyone gets sued after the next raid on the bars in Westwood, they might want to consider contacting the Law Offices of Larry H. Parker.
