Shuffling The Deck

We need to hear from you.
Today during our spring member drive, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

We're still in our public beta here at LAist, and we're making a few changes to our staff makeup. The excellent Marleigh Riggins is being promoted to co-editor: she'll continue to cover local events while sharing responsibility with me for everything else. (The site should reflect this change by sometime tomorrow.) Phil Wallace will continue to cover sports.

We're also still in the process of selecting another contributor or two, and we welcome more submissions! Email me at and write a few paragraphs to let us know why you're the right one for the site.

We hope you continue to enjoy reading LAist.
