Seal Debate Ratchets Up

We need to hear from you.
Today during our spring member drive, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

From the SoCal Law Blog (a site that really, really needs to work on its compatibility with Safari... same goes for you, L.A. Business Journal), an update on Seal-gate. Supervisor Mike Antonovich is trying to petition the county to put the issue to the voters this fall - a ballot item that is sure to provoke, um, reasoned debate all around the county. Commenter (and local blogger) Cobb reports that the petition has 125K signatures... I didn't major in mathematics, but it seems that they'll need about 50,000 more by Friday if they want to qualify for the November election.

Will these defenders of the cross take a page from the Darrell Issa playbook, and pay a bunch of people to hit the bricks and finish the job? We'll keep you updated.
