All indications are that the Lakers will hire Rudy Tomjanovich as their new head coach.

Rudy T. is sort of like a John Edwards pick: safe, obvious, well-liked, and probably the best available. Tomjanovich brings instant credibility with two championship rings to franchise which can only survive with a big name coach.

Now will Rudy T. be able to persuade both Shaq and Kobe to stay? Well, he's as good as anyone out there. Here's hoping.
