Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the street in downtown late last night, reports City News Service.

The man, whose name hasn't been released but is reportedly in his 30s or 40s, was discovered at around 10:40 p.m. Monday at San Julian and Sixth streets. Witnesses said that they saw two men pushing him in an apparent robbery, until he fell and hit his head on the sidewalk. The suspects then allegedly fled the scene.

Sgt. Richard Tamez, a watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Station, told the enws site that "We think it was a robbery that went bad."
