Update: The student has admitted she lied about the sexual assault.A Riverside City College student fought off an attempted rapist by stabbing him in the neck yesterday—the latest in a string of disturbing incidents reported in the college's bathrooms this month.

An alert was sent out to RCC students on Thursday afternoon after a woman reported a man tried to sexually assault her in the woman's restroom of the campus' Math/Science Building. Around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, the victim was washing her hands in the restroom when the suspect came up from behind her, pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her. The victim told police she was able to escape by stabbing him in the neck with a pencil. No blood was found at the scene, and a search of local hospitals for the suspect came up empty according to KTLA.

The victim said the attacker matched the description of the suspect from an incident on Wednesday where a man stalked a woman in another campus restroom. On January 8, the Facebook group RCC Student Confessions posted a message warning of yet another attempted rape in a campus restroom.

Naturally the incidents have made made people extra cautious on campus. "Every time I go into the restroom now, I'm always checking the stalls," said student Gloria Morales.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s with a black beard and standing about 5 feet, 7 inches tall. An unverified and unconfirmed post last night from the RCC Student Confessions group claims a suspect has been arrested.
