"The Daily Show" was laughing along with us at the botched delegate vote count at the DNC on Wednesday night.

Our own Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (who with exceptions typically comes off looking better on the national stage than he does at home) was tasked with measuring the ayes and nos on a vote to restore a reference to God and mention Jerusalem as Israel's capital in the official party platform.

Villaraigosa came off looking pretty silly. He asked for a verbal vote three times, and although it sounded pretty close all three times, he said the "ayes" carried the measure with two-thirds of the vote. The "nos" responded by booing.

The vote didn't go according to the prescribed script on the teleprompter Villaraigosa was reading, and Stewart quipped: "Tie goes to the prompter."
