Democrats appear poised to take over all of Orange County's traditionally GOP House seats.

Democrat Katie Porter pulled ahead of Republican incumbent Mimi Walters by more than 6,000 votes in the 45th Congressional District in the latest count Thursday. The Associated Press has called the race in Porter's favor, though Orange County estimates more than 156,000 ballots remain to count.

"Thank you. I can't wait to get to work for all of OC," Porter wrote in a Facebook post that included a video of her standing in the rain in Washington D.C.

Just north in the 39th Congressional District, Democrat Gil Cisneros pulled ahead of his Republican opponent, Young Kim. Cisneros now leads by 941 votes after being down by 122 votes in the previous count.

The 39th district straddles Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties and includes parts of Buena Park, La Habra, Fullerton and Yorba Linda.
