The victim's friends reported the kidnapping, and police located the victim's white Volkswagen Beetle at Chavez Avenue and Soto Street. LAPD told City News Service that the man stopped to pick up two other males before the chase began. A chase commenced that ended 50 miles to the east on the 10 Freeway in San Bernardino County when the VW ran out of gas. The car reached 90 mph during the pursuit which ended in Fontana.

The 25-year-old suspect and the two other men were taken into custody. The 25-year-old faces robbery, carjacking and kidnapping charges. The victim wasn't physically injured and police say the victim didn't know any of the men.
