Shooting Victim Collapses Near Middle School

In responding to a report of gunshot wounds, LAPD officers from the Mission Hills station discovered a man who had apparently collapsed near Sepulveda Middle School in North HIlls. According to LAPD spokeswoman Officer Kate Lopez, as quoted in the LA Times, "the man had numerous gunshot wounds to the body and head," and another officer said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, despite earlier reports he had died at the hospital. Lopez also added that "as of this morning, no suspects had been identified."
