As Matt Drudge continues to drive his "Edwards and Kerry are gay lovers" gag into the ground for a third day, L.A.-based blogger Max Blumenthal makes a riposte.

Okay, Matt? Are we done with this yet? Call me a stick-in-the-mud, but when the Bush administration is making efforts to stigmatize gay relationships in the constitution, this stuff seems more than churlish. And after Drudge's botched attempt to smear Kerry with a fabricated sex scandal, we wonder - doesn't the internet's most popular homegrown news source have any compelling innuendo left to print?
