12 Passengers From Fiji Get Sick On Flight To LAX
Twelve passengers who had all stayed at the same hotel in Fiji got sick while traveling on a plane from Fiji to Los Angeles.
Fiji Airways Flight 180 landed at LAX today at about 1:45 p.m. after a dozen passengers began feeling sick, KTLA reports. The passengers were not traveling as a group, but all of them did stay at the same hotel in Nadi, Fiji. One was transported to a hospital.
Symptoms of the illness, which officials determined was not contagious, included nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. Food poisoning was named as a possible cause, according to CBS LA.
LAX Spokeswoman Nancy Castles said that all 261 passengers, plus 11 crew members, remained on board while medical personnel treated the sick passengers and cleared the flight. As of 2:12 p.m., all passengers and crew members had exited the plane.
