Photos: What Hollywood Blvd. Looked Like In Its Early Days

Now that we're in full gear for the holidays and have to play tour guide to friends and family visiting from out of town, Hollywood Blvd. is usually one of those stops along the way... even though we try to avoid the tourist trap as much as possible.

However, these vintage photos from the Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection gives us a glimpse into just how different Hollywood Blvd. looked during its humble beginnings. It's hard to imagine the now-bustling Hollywood Blvd. and Western Ave. intersection was nothing more than a row of trees and greenery back in the day, that streetcars ruled the roads, and Hollywood Blvd. was once home to a festive "Santa Claus Lane."
