Last night was the August Critical Mass ride through the streets of Los Angeles. The event, by most morning-after accounts, went well; the group's Facebook wall has multiple postings from participants citing a "dope," "great," "fun," "tight," and "successful," ride.

Reports of how many riders took their two wheels to the street last night vary: "Here are some estimates of last night's ride. 2500 from LAPD. 900 - 1700 from the statisticians riding in the group," notes the LosAngelesCM Twitter feed. "Either way it was huge."

Here are some photos from the ride.
