On Wednesday, Barack Obama will make his Southern California debut as President of the United States. After arriving at Long Beach Airport in the afternoon, he'll hold a 4 p.m. town hall meeting in Costa Mesa followed by a tour of the Edison International Vehicle Electrics Plant in Pomona on Thursday.

The only event open to the public is the town hall. Beginning at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 17, free "tickets will be limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis," according to a White House media advisory sent to LAist. The ticket pickup location is at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa (Enter at Gate 1 or Gate 10; Park in Lot A). "For security reasons, do not bring bags and limit personal items," the White House warns of the Wednesday event. "No signs or banners permitted. The OC Fairgrounds will be charging $5/car for on-site parking."

Also: Obama will tape a segment on The Tonight Show at some point during his visit, notes Kevin Roderick.

Update: There also be a Los Angeles town hall, more info here.
