Nicole Richie Popped w/DUI, Takes a Decent Mug Shot

We need to hear from you.
Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

Always a step behind her former bff, Nicole Richie was arrested this morning for driving the wrong way down the 134 in Burbank while allegedly under the influence.

Although some bloggers are asking why she wasn't busted for tooling down the freeway the wrong way -- possibly in the car pool lane (did she think she was playing a video game?) -- and some are talking about how she claimed to be white when she was busted for heroin possession and now she's claiming to be black, and some are talking about how she must have been going to new bf Joel Madden's crib, and some are talking about how she has lost 10 pounds since that arrest (she now admits to being a mere 85 pounds), and some are talking about the suspenders she was "wearing", and even some are talking about how she has shrunk an inch down to 5'2"...

This blog would like to say that she takes a good mug shot.

Not that we would know, but we imagine that taking a good mug shot photo has got to be a difficult trick. Especially if you're wasted, and especially if you've been up all night.

Recently, Rip Torn proved how tricky a decent jail cell portrait can be to pull off.

Nicole, who doesn't always photograph well, appears young, not really Skeletorish, and even a bit pouty, like "oops I'm a bad girl, spank me."

Definitely on this side of "I'd hit it", as opposed to the side on which Ms. Richie normally resides.

In no way are we encouraging driving on the wrong side of freeways, anorexia, carrying around little dogs, or not knowing which race you are.

But we are encouraging practicing your mug shot face, because it is probably going to be your most famous photo ever.

So hats off to Nichole Richie, whose drivers license should be revoked forever.
