Yesterday, we announced the free LA Philharmonic concerts that will be performed later this month (according to the Phil this morning, while the shows are reserved out already, that you should keep checking back as more seats could be released).

Today, we find out that more free concerts will be performed during the Grand Avenue Festival on Sunday, September 28. It won't be the orchestra that's playing, but rather patrons will see the daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra, Sonus Quarter and Christian McBride. Of note, the first two concerts look to be especially interesting with interpretations and inspirations from Stravinksy's famous and controversial "Rite of Spring." At 11:00 a.m., there will be a "contemporary orchestra nod" to the piece called "Spring Revisted" with McBride, Sonus and Double G of daKAH. At 12:45 p.m., they will play a jazz interpretation of Stravinky's work called “A Rite of Spring Situation.” The third and fourth concerts in the hall will deliver more variations of the piece by daKAH and Sonus.
