Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter may have tried to navigate the LA River's precarious waters the other day, but now you can, too, without ever leaving your computer.

KCET's Departures has created a website that tells the stories of the LA River, and it includes this amazing interactive map that travels the distance of the waterway with markings showing places to pause to see a video, a photo, or hear a story. So grab your mouse and your keyboard and set off on a journey along Los Angeles' historic and storied river.
